Corona Virus Self Isolation Hacks

 

Just like you we are challenged by the self-isolation necessary to help control the spread of the Corona Virus. I want to share with you some things that we do to mitigate the stress and boredom of this isolation. Need a laugh? Listen to my take on these hacks here

 

  • Every morning we start off with a walk. When we come home, we do bodyweight exercises mostly abs. I have though taken to using bottles of Tito‘s Handmade Vodka for my so-called resistance training.

 

  • We have both of our college-age daughters back home with us. This is an adjustment for them and for us. Make sure you give each other space to function. You have work to do and they have work to do. It is important to maintain some sort of a of a semblance of a schedule every day.

 

  • Plan a meal usually dinner every evening. This is a time for everyone to get together and talk laugh and yeah drink too. Pull out that old cookbook and make something different then you normally would not. One night this week we are going to have elegant night. We are going to get dressed up pull out the china and crystal and have a fancy dress up dinner.

 

  • Do something fun with everyone in the evening we are playing board games or watching a movie, if you can all agree on one. Give everyone a chance to pick the movie and to pick the game. One of our favorites that we had a lot of laughs was a game called HeadsUp. You can find it on your phone. If you can’t your kids probably will help.

 

  • Be sure to reach out to family members that are not with you. Especially those that may be living by themselves. Even if they are not living by themselves the variety of people to talk to is much appreciated

 

  • Be careful of the conversations you have in your head. Do not ask yourself questions that raise fear and blame. Be sure to ask yourself questions that move you forward in a productive way.

 

 

  • Remember the bad times and good times don’t last this too will pass
